Body:
Harvest is just the beginning; the real challenge is "freezing" the biochemical peak state from the garden and safely delivering it to the
processing plant. As the Logistics and Preservation Technology Manager for Blue Eyes Biotech, I oversee a four-tier freshness preservation
system dubbed "Life Pause." From the moment tea leaves leave the plant, a precision race against oxidation and enzymatic degradation
begins.
The first tier of preservation happens within the tea garden. Our preservation containers contain phase-change material cooling modules,
maintaining an internal temperature of 8-10°C for up to 6 hours even in 25°C ambient conditions. Each container is equipped with IoT
sensors that monitor temperature, humidity, and oxygen concentration in real-time. If any parameter exceeds preset ranges
(temperature >12°C, oxygen >5%), the system automatically alerts, and that container's contents are immediately transferred to an
emergency handling process. This field-side instant cooling technology reduces the tea leaves' "metabolic rate" by 85%, buying precious time
for subsequent processing.
The second tier of preservation occurs during transport. We use specialized refrigerated trucks with compartments divided into three
temperature zones: the front zone at 4-6°C for the freshest materials (within 2 hours), the middle zone at 6-8°C for materials within 2-4 hours
, and the rear zone at 8-10°C for materials within 4-6 hours. The vehicles are equipped with independent power generation systems and
satellite temperature control recorders. Even if the vehicle engine is off, the temperature control system can operate for 12 hours
continuously. The average transport time from garden to primary processing factory is controlled within 2.5 hours, with a maximum
transport radius not exceeding 150 km.
The third tier of preservation takes place at the primary processing factory. Upon arrival, materials immediately enter the "Low-Temperature,
Low-Oxygen Preprocessing Line." We use deoxygenated purified air at 8°C for airflow cleaning to remove surface dust and impurities, strictly
controlled within 3 minutes. The cleaned leaves enter the drum fixation machine within 30 seconds. The fixation temperature is precisely
controlled between 220-230°C, and the fixation time is 45-50 seconds. This "high-temperature, short-time" fixation process is the result of
thousands of experimental optimizations. It maximally inactivates polyphenol oxidase while preserving over 90% of the EGCG.
The most critical fourth tier is "Vacuum Cooling and Shaping." Fixed leaves immediately enter a vacuum cooling chamber, where the
temperature drops from 220°C to 40°C within 10 seconds. This process creates a micro-porous structure beneficial for subsequent
component dissolution during extraction. The moisture content of the cooled leaves is strictly controlled between 5-6%. They are then
packed into vacuum aluminum foil bags, each containing 10 kg with built-in oxygen indicators and humidity regulators. The entire
preservation process, from harvest to packaging completion, does not exceed 240 minutes—the golden time window for maintaining high
activity in Green Tea Extract.
The entire logistics process is monitored via IoT. Our clients can view the complete logistics data of their purchased raw materials through
authorized accounts. Last year, a batch was delayed by 3 hours due to a mountain road collapse. We monitored a 1.2°C temperature
fluctuation. Although within acceptable limits, we proactively replaced the entire batch for the client free of charge. This extreme
commitment to quality has made Blue Eyes Biotech a strategic supplier for top global nutraceutical brands. To request our Freshness
